HOW TO ENROL
We encourage you to join us on a tour and get a feel for how the Centre runs prior to applying, to make sure our programs and session times will suit your child.
When you’re ready to enrol, one of our Centre Directors can give you a Waiting List Application form to complete and return.
Applications can only be accepted in the year your child has turned two years of age.
We are in East Brunswick but also take enrolments from children in surrounding suburbs and beyond.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
You will be notified by phone and/or email when an appropriate place becomes available, but due to high demand we cannot guarantee that your preferred session times or days will be offered.
Offers are made on a priority basis, based on the following criteria:
Siblings of children currently enrolled
Children from the local area (East Brunswick, Brunswick, Fitzroy North, Northcote and Coburg)
Children in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families
Children in families which include a disabled person
Children in families of low incomes
Children in families from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
Asylum seeker and refugee children
Children in socially isolated families
Children of single parents
Children with additional needs
Children who are eligible for the kindergarten fee subsidy because they or their parent holds a Health Care Card, Pension Concession Card, or Veterans’ Affairs Card, and multiple birth children (such as triplets and quadruplets)
Australian Government guidelines also require us to prioritise offers thusly:
Priority 1 - a child at risk of serious abuse or neglect
Priority 2 – a child of a single parent who satisfies, or of parents who both satisfy, the work/training/study test under section 14 of the New Tax System (Family Assistance) Act
Priority 3 – any other child
If there are no places currently available, your application details will be placed on a Waiting List used to allocate future available places. You are encouraged to keep in contact with the centre about your child’s place on the waiting list.
Once you are offered a place you will be required to fill out a more comprehensive enrolment form and pay an administration fee for any childcare days to hold your place until your child starts.
Confirmation of your enrolment will only be made once the enrolment form and any deposit needed are received. You will also need to provide proof of Immunisation on Enrolment.
Once your child’s space is confirmed, we will provide you with the information you need to enrol. It is your responsibility to provide vital documents such as medical condition plans, medication authorisations and immunisation records before your child’s first day.
